I’m so excited to share my summer front porch reveal! We lived in a small, old farm house for years before we built our home 5 years ago. But because we knew the farmhouse was only a temporary situation, I never really did all that much with the place. So now that we live in our forever home, I love decorating and making it ours. Decorating the new house has definitely been a work in progress though. Building a home and raising children is expensive, so to be mindful of that, I have typically taken on one outdoor and one indoor space each year. This year’s outdoor space was the front porch, and I just love how it stands out!
The porch before:
I had not touched the space prior to this summer besides throwing a welcome mat at the front door and the occasional seasonal wreath, so it was a blank canvas. So sad and bare!

The Front Porch Reveal:
I wanted to add color and dimension to the space since there are so many neutrals in the structure. It was also important to keep the price points low. Country living is so hard on things left outdoors that I really can’t justify spending too much on them.

Since I was on a budget the first thing I did was run to TJMaxx to see what I deals I could find. I found these great patterned and solid blue pots, the wire aqua plant stand, aqua pillow, gray metal lantern, and the wicker ottoman there this spring. The printed pots are not actually functional for real potted plants. They cannot drain water because there are no holes in the bottom. So I headed to Hobby Lobby and bought fake greenery to fill them. I picked up the gray crate while there to add further dimension to the space. The brown neutral pots were repurposed from another outdoor space around the house.

The wooden bench is from the Applaro collection by IKEA. I am in no way affiliated with them, but highly recommended their outdoor furniture. I already have a few pieces from this collection by our pool and have been really happy with the price and quality. I also absolutely loved the wreath from Pier 1 to further lighten up the space and create a center focal point.

I used two vignettes to frame the door. The tall wooden lantern in the vignette above is available at Target now, and I snagged the small white lantern from the dollar spot this spring. Next, I searched for an outdoor rug to tie the porch together. I was so excited to find this inexpensive reversible quatrefoil rug on amazon. Very functional with an awesome price!
