Stitch Fix Review: August 2019

Hey, friends! I’m back with another Stitch Fix review. And if you’re reading this in real time, I know what you’re thinking…August? It’s almost October. And you’re right, friends, I am a serial late Stitch Fix review post -er. It’s true. Summer fun was too fun, and back to school time was too full. And so here we are. What I asked for:

This fix I asked for jean shorts, jumpsuits, rompers, wide leg crops, and neutral sandals. I also asked to leave out spaghetti straps.

What I Got: My Stitch Fix Review: August 2019

Madewell Slim Wide leg Jean. Size 28. True to size. I liked these, but did not love. The Madewell high waist button up jeans are really on trend now as are wide legged crops, but these weren’t the perfect pair for me. And for $128, they need to be the absolute perfect pair. These are a true classic jean with no stretch. They were also a tad small on me making the buttons pull a bit. The look was fine, but nothing wowing. And for that price, I need to be wowed. Really wowed.

I will note, if you are liking the feel of these jeans, I recently got the Madewell Momjean Ripped Highwaist Stretch Jeans for a fraction of the price at Nordstrom…and I love them! They are very similar, but just a better version for me (and a MUCH better price!). Also, if you love this tee, the sleeveless version is on sale now as well as the solid tee in a variety of colors.

Verdict: Returned

Steve Madden Dina Leather Sandal. Size 10. True to size. I loved these. They were extremely comfortable, and super versatile. The only downside was simply paying full price for sandals in August. While I need new sandals, I can’t justify paying that price for shoes I will only wear another month.

Verdict: Returned

Driftwood Cherrill Embroidered Side Stripe Released Hem Short. Size 28. True to size. Friends, let me just say I have been looking all summer for a cute, age appropriate short, in the right length…and at last I have found it!! All the praise hands!! These shorts are everything. High rise. Nice stretch. Great length. Cute embroidered detail and distressing. All. The. Things. All of them. Love. Love. Love.

Verdict: Kept

Madewell Fern Embroidery Detail Textured Top. Size medium. Runs big. This top was really cute with great detailing. It was not quite a crop top, but definitely a shorter hem line. This Madewell top was a bit sheer, so take note if that is not your jam. I really liked it, but for someone else. I am not much for light colors. Because, well, 4 kids, farm life, and, who are we kidding, I spill my coffee and morning protein shake down my shirt daily. I also felt like it was a bit too flowy for me. The shirt is really wide.

Verdict: Returned

Kaileigh Aspen Tie Detail Knit Jumpsuit. Size Medium. True to size. You guys, yesss!! So much yes on this one! It’s the perfect end of summer into fall piece. The color and cropped hem lends itself to the transitional months, and I am here for it. It also feels like wearing pajamas, so there’s that. It’s super flattering with the empire tie waist. I will note, that if you’re tall, you may want to size up. I did wish the torso was a tad longer, but I knew a large would be too big up top on me.

Verdict: Kept
