I’ve been quiet again here on social. There are so many, many things happening all around the world. And honestly, it’s hard to know just what to say when, you know? I have strong thoughts and feelings about all of it, but also want to be careful not to add to the already deafening noises just for the sake of making noise.

Friends, the world is loud right now. So what do you say when information is being thrown at you from all sides, when we’re being told worse case scenario after worse case scenario, when it may seem as though the world is crumbling, and when division is all you see?

Jesus is still king. God is still good.

That’s the sound of my heart that I want to contribute today. May that be the meditation of our heart when it feels too loud.

Hey, friends!!! It has been a minute since I’ve posted on my feed! I took a little social summer sabbatical to reflect on all the things.

Life is so complicated for us all right now, and while I love ya’ll, social media felt too noisy for me to really think. I wanted to get quiet and listen: To God. To my family. To my heart. To the world. And so that’s what I did here. I got quiet. I observed. And I drew near to His truth and my fam.

And so I’m back(ish). Slowly re-emerging from the quiet reflection. And it feels good. I’ve missed this community.

So tell me, friend, how did you cope with the summer of 2020? Quiet or loud, I hope it was a good one❤️

I come at this post messy. And quite frankly, ignorant to so many of the deep rooted issues at play here. I feel completely unqualified to speak as if I truly know anything about the issues of racial injustice... But I do know something about God, and as a member of the body of Christ we are called to do better.
Because God loves. And repeatedly tells us to love. Love covers, it saves, it heals. Love thy neighbor. Period. Regardless of race, or ethnicity, economic status, political affiliation. Love.
And stand. Stand up for the poor, the oppressed, the alien, the widow, the orphan. Do justice and righteousness. I am standing with you. Ready to listen. Ready to act. Ready to make change.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:18
