How are you spending your days? We are in this wei

How are you spending your days? We are in this weird space of life as usual, living our best lives, bored, hopeful, and deeply concerned and saddened for the world around us. Regardless of what you’re feeling, or how you’re spending your time, I don’t believe there is just one cookie cutter right way to get through all of this. There is not just one emotion to sum up all the feels...but I will say, this picture gives me #allthefeels ❤️ What is the light in your day?

Celebrated my little animal lover yesterday, and we had the best time. I cannot believe he is 5🦁🐻🐯 I will give you one guess what he’s talking about here☺️

It’s just me and the gang these days, and to be completely honest, staying home with kids is my jam. I have been doing it for 10 years. And in the younger days, when I was literally swimming in babies, we would go long stretches without leaving the house...because 1 mom, 2 hands, and so many kids☺️

I am no expert. I am not the color coded charts and elaborate schedules mom. I am not overly crafty or creative. I mess up. But we have found a few things that work for us over the years:

⭐️Do as much as you can outside for as long as you can (eat, craft, run, play, read, all the things- fresh air is so good for you & less mess in the house🙌🏼).
⭐️Music can completely change a mood. Play it often. ⭐️Magnatiles are the worlds greatest toy (all ages, all personalities, everybody loves a magnatile!)
⭐️Know what you’re going to have for dinner by 10:00 a.m. or else you will find yourself scrambling later. ⭐️Limit your coffee- savor it, drink it, but watch out. There is a fine line between caffeinated and ready to conquer the day, and jittery and irritable.
⭐️Whatever crazy high expectations and pressures for the day you have placed on yourself to raise the world’s next generation of leaders, difference makers, givers, and doers, lower that. While YES raising children is an amazing and important role, and YES instilling values and life lessons are needed, and YES what we do and say matters. Yes they are watching, and YES we need to do our best....BUT one bad day does not wreck and entire lifetime (or one bad week, for that matter). And leaders and world changers are still made even when the meal was not gourmet, the craft was not Pinterest worthy, and the day was not spectacular. ⭐️Grace. Give it freely to yourself. To your kids. To your spouse. The dog. Everyone. Grace upon grace and then some more. .

I haven’t posted much this week because I haven’t known what to say or think about all these things happening in the world that have so many fearful and anxiety ridden. The world feels scary and out of control for so many right now. ⠀

And so when I thought about what to say, I thought about the only thing that really matters. The Word. The truth. His promise. ⠀
⠀
Regardless of what you’re feeling or dealing with, we get to come to the Father. We get to find rest for our souls. His yoke is easy. His burden is light.⠀
⠀
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.⠀

Busted chin at the park; 3 hour ER wait, 4 stitche

Busted chin at the park; 3 hour ER wait, 4 stitches for Layton; lost an hour of sleep (looking at you daylight savings time 👀), and the hot water heater went out AFTER I applied the hair mask...My Saturday and Sunday did not exactly go as smoothly as I’d anticipated. .

One lesson I’ve learned over the years: sometimes couch church is the answer. And that’s ok. There was a time this would have bothered me. I would have felt overwhelmed by guilt for missing a Sunday. But I’ve learned that grace can look like so many things and one of them is sipping on my coffee in my jammies on my couch watching a sermon on Utube after a long 24 hours. .
