Living for more: making space for abundance.
Regardless of if you’re a resolution person or not, the start of a new year or any new season typically makes people stop and evaluate. We find ourselves asking: What is it that serves me? Do my actions align with my passions? Where do I want to be a year from now? And the more I thought about what word, or goal, or resolution I wanted for myself, the more I wanted more.
More.
More of You. Less of me.
More lasting joy. Less fleeting happiness.
More laughing. Less bitterness.
More serving. Less sitting.
More creating. Less consuming.
More books. Less apps.
More revival. Less indifference.
More kingdom. Less world.
More purpose. Less comparison.
More listening. Less talking.
More forgiveness. Less resentment.
More contentment. Less restlessness.
More focus. Less distraction.
More open arms. Less fear of the unknown.
More learning new. Less regurgitating old.
More compassion. Less judgment.

More.
But here’s the thing about wanting more: to really acquire more, there always has to be less. There must be space for that more. Room for the abundance. We have to ask ourselves if we truly want more, are we willing to have less?

So often I think we forget to make room for the more by holding on to things that don’t serve. That crowd our mind, our time, and our energy never leaving room for the new to take root. Never allowing for more. Keeping us stuck. So this year let’s have more, but also less. Let’s step into more. Have plenty. Walk in abundance and stop clinging to the things that keep us from achieving it.
What do you need less of to make your more possible?
